Most people would probably be embarrassed to land themselves back in their hometown and working at a pizzeria after an ugly divorce.

 Not me.
 It’s home, and I have one last shot to make Wren Daniels see me as more than just her brother’s best friend.
 When the opportunity to show her what’s been right in front of her this whole time presents itself, I take it, holding nothing back this time.

MY REVIEW

Life has been a bit challenging and stoic lately in my neck of the woods, and even the rom-coms others thought were hysterical did little more than bring a small smile to my face. And then I found this book. This book, that had me snorting and giggling and garnering strange looks from strangers (completely understandable) as well as family (it’s like they don’t even know me!). Wren and Foster are the light-hearted humor my soul desperately needed, leaving me free to just let go and be for the few hours I spent with them. 

I adored the setup for this book. Wren and her twin brother Winston work for their father, Simon, at the family pizzeria, and Wren is shocked when their childhood friend, Foster, shows up there with a date. He had moved to the other side of the country and gotten married, so she's understandably surprised. Turns out Foster is divorced, now back home, and trying to get back into the dating scene. After three nights in a row of first dates bombing, Wren takes pity on Foster and agrees to fake date him to give him some practice. But Foster has set his sights on Wren, and he's not pretending. 

With quirky, lively characters and crazy pizza toppings, this author created a world I felt like I could walk down the street, open the door, and look over the menu of Simon's inventive pizza creations. I loved Wren and Foster and everything them about them together, from their hilarious banter to their amazing chemistry and their beautiful, heartfelt love. I can't wait to return to this world again for Winston's story. He seems like a worthless slacker, but I suspect there's a lot beneath the façade he shows the world, and I can’t wait to dig deeper. 

If you love authors like Erin Nicholas, Pippa Grant, Maria Luis and Lucy Score, you’ll really love this book! Snarky, sarcastic, bawdy, irreverent and unrepentant, this one will have you laughing out loud while hitting you right in the heart, and you really don’t want to miss it!
