Title: Through His Eyes
Author: Nikki Ash
Genre: Single Mom Contemporary Romance
Release: September 7, 2019

The moment I saw her walk through the door of Forbidden Ink, I knew she was the one. With her wide hips, thick thighs, and perfect breasts, she’s every man’s wet dream.

Add to that her dark, soulful eyes, pouty lips, and a body covered in gorgeous art, and I knew I needed to make her mine.

She’s a walking contradiction of sass and strength and determination, hidden by insecurity and self-doubt. She’s everything I could ever want or need, but she doesn’t see what I see.

I want to take away her pain. To be the one to make her laugh, to make all her dreams come true. I need to prove to her that I’m not him, that no matter what, I’ll be right there beside her. Loving her.

If only she could see herself through my eyes, she would understand we were made for each other.

🌟🌟🌟🌟

First of all, I love the book title. It sets the tone for the book and had me considering something uncomfortable that I don’t like to think about. Who among us doesn’t view herself through a myopic lens, and most often a critical one, at that? It’s easy to focus on the negative and become our own worst critic. But what if we saw ourselves through the eyes of someone who focuses on the positive, the good, and the beautiful parts of us? Someone who sees those less desirable pieces and idiosyncrasies and embraces it all? Even better, what if that someone was us? For that reminder alone, this book is worth reading.

Lachlan is such a swoony hero, wise beyond his years with a big heart, and a man who goes after what he wants. And he wants Quinn. We’ve gotten to know Quinn a little bit from her brothers' books, but little did we know what an emotionally abusive marriage she was in or what it’s done to her image of herself. Gone is the strong, confident woman, leaving behind insecurities and low self-esteem. But Lachlan somehow has a way of looking at Quinn and seeing not only the woman she used to be but the woman she can become.

While I think the message of this book is important, the message would have been stronger if we had been able to observe more of Quinn making changes and working on her insecurities. Giving the reader a chance to see Quinn's growth and self-improvement transpire would have made for a more inspiring hit to the heart. We get a small amount of it near the end, and then see the results somewhat in the epilogue, and I loved getting a glimpse of these characters a few years down the road. Quinn and Lachlan's story is endearing, heartfelt, steamy and humorous, and it provides the perfect escape. And then there's Lachlan. He's all the reason you need to start this one ASAP. ;)
