My Review

If you like big city romance with a somewhat damaged hero and a strong, brilliant heroine who helps him find redemption, then this book should be right up your alley. Oh, and we can’t forget steam, because this writer always delivers that. But the complexity of the characters, their relationship and personal growth are the main focus here, so prepare your heart to be taken on an intensely emotional ride. 

Tanner is partners in a nightclub venture with two friends from college, Landon Bennett and Jason Dare (yes, that Dare family). Club Ten29 is named to honor Landon's twin who died in a hazing incident on that date. Tanner already has an anger issue that would have landed him behind bars without a little intervention, but when the man responsible for Levi's death shows up, Landon and Jason have their hands full trying to keep Tanner from doing something they'll all regret. 

Scarlett has her own share of demons, and she went to law school so she could legally fight to put other demons behind bars, like she was unable to do for someone she loved and lost. Sure, there's an instant attraction between her and Tanner, but finding out about Tanner's past may be a bucket of cold water on the fire that's been kindling between them. 

With complicated characters that will steal your heart, and full of emotion with a side of suspense, this one will keep you riveted to the page from beginning to end. You'll not only love Tanner and Scarlett's story, but it will leave you wanting more from these fantastic characters.
