He’s kind of a big dill.
An enemies-to-lovers, secret boss, gut-splittingly hilarious rom com from USA Today bestselling author JJ Knight

They call me Big Pickle.
It’s not what you think.
(Although that’s true too.)

I happen to be the oldest Pickle in the family deli business. And we have the best salami.

Take that one however you like.

But when my father announces the franchise will go to the most profitable of the three brothers, I learn that even though I’m the biggest Pickle, I’m dead last.

I hightail it to Texas to see what’s happened to my restaurant, only to find a sassy little spitfire named Nova Strong in charge.

She’s amazing. She’s sexy. She runs our deli like she owns it.

But despite the way we nearly melt the permafrost in the industrial freezer, I have to control myself. Nova thinks I'm a new employee. She has no idea I’m only there to spy.

Or that I'm her boss.

As I get to the bottom of why my franchise is failing, I desperately need to know one thing:

Is Nova Strong everything wrong with my deli, or everything right for me?
___
Big Pickle is a full-length, 300-page standalone romantic comedy full of pickle jokes, giggle-worthy references to male anatomy, and more salty language than a jar of baby dills.

My Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book is a ridiculously delightful book to read! And maybe a little ridiculous, in the best of ways. I mean, just look at the title. This is a new author for me, and I’m so glad to find her. I hope she’s ready for another life-long fan. Trust me now. You’re going to want to get your hands on this one!

Jace has been raised in his family's delicatessen and opened his own store in Austin, TX, after college. It's been months since he's set foot in his store, preferring to enjoy the sand and sun and his jet setting lifestyle. Now his father is retiring and wants one of his three sons to take over the New York City store as well as continue to run their own stores. Whichever brother's store has the most profit by the end of the year will win. Being the oldest, Jase figures he'd better take things seriously.

The Austin store is a mess, and as the employee with the most seniority, Nova Strong is doing her best. She's taken on more hours and is acting as manager to keep the doors open. No matter how she tries, she can’t get in touch with the owner to let him know about all the problems, but she and the other employees keep working away. On top of that, she's doing her best to take care of her younger sister as well as her mother. She really doesn’t have time for Mr. Fancy Pants, who sashays into the store claiming to be a friend of the owner's family and tells her to put him to work.

You know that saying about deceptive webs? Well Jace has certainly woven himself into a tight corner, and watching him untangle things while he and Nova are falling in love is the best kind of entertainment. Their story is sweet but sarcastic, and touching but laugh-out-loud hilarious, and it's a fantastic, fabulous read that you absolutely don’t want to mis
s!

PICKLE SLICE 1: PICKLE BREAD

Nova lifts the bag of flour, revealing a recipe. “You’ll need to chop two kosher dills.”

“Dill pickles in bread?” I ask. Gross.

“That’s what it says.”

“And people eat it?”

She grins. “I think it’s going to be hugely popular. But it might be the name.”

“It has a name?”

Nova spins around to stare at me. “You never eat at any of the Pickle delis? Specialty breads are part of the chain’s appeal.”

I shrug. It’s true I avoid our own delis. I got sick of it growing up. “There’s lots of restaurants around town.”

She shakes her head. “I think people are going to order this one just to say the name out loud.”

Now she has me curious. “So what’s it called?”

“It’s dill pickles and bread.” She laughs. “What do you think?”

“I think I have no idea.”

She leans in. “It’s called the Dill Dough.”
