I'm the coach's daughter.
He's my dad's favorite player
And completely off-limits
The first time I met Preston Parker, I slammed face first into his wet, chiseled abs. In the men’s locker room, of all places. I did the world’s longest walk of shame in front of dozens of hockey players. As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, Mr. MVP gave me one of his killer smirks, right before dropping his towel in front of me. Just to prove a point. That no woman can resist him. Not even me.
Now, I can’t stop thinking about Parker naked. He keeps finding ways to see me, touch me. And I find myself wanting to break my dad’s rules about his players. Rules I never break for a reason. Because falling for a player like Parker… That was never part of the plan. My Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bex’s father is the head coach for the men's hockey team at Strickland University and he has three rules: No talking to his players. No hanging out with his players. No dating his players. Part of his reasoning comes from a bad experience Bex had with a hockey player in high school, so she has no problem abiding by those rules, until she meets Preston Parker, the captain of the team. She knows he’s a player off the ice as well, but something about him has her wanting to bend the rules, if not break them.
After reading “Parker," the story of Preston's parents, I was interested in reading an early copy of this book. It was great to get reacquainted with familiar characters and learn more about the next generation. In true Quinn style we have an entertaining story with a little humor, a little heat and a lot of heart. I loved these young adult characters and was impressed with their strength and maturity, in spite of the anticipated “pushing away the one you love to the detriment of both so there can be a make-up scene.” I was a little surprised the long-standing issue Bex had wasn’t resolved, but it’s entirely possible the issue will crop up again in another character's book, because it’s only a matter of time before it comes back to haunt her. So I’ll be eager to read future books due to this as well as spending more time with the other guys as they embark on their hockey careers. If you like heartfelt, witty, sports romances with steamy chemistry, you’ll love Preston and Bex's story.
Grab your copy of this light-hearted, entertaining sports romance today! Until next time, dear reader
Jillian Quinn is an international bestselling romance author who likes her females just as alpha as their swoon-worthy male counterparts. As a lover of all things bookish, Jillian has a serious book-hoarding problem and runs a blog in her free time. When she's not reading, writing, or blogging, she's obsessively fangirling over hockey players and can be found wherever she can catch the next hockey game.

If you do any advance copy reading of books or are in any book groups or authors’ groups on Facebook, you’ve probably seen authors and readers alike discussing their reviews disappearing from Amazon recently. Not long ago, all my reviews were deleted by Amazon, and I'll share some suggestions on what to do, should you find yourself in this situation, and some tips on how to hopefully avoid it happening to you in the future.
Sadly, Amazon’s review system, especially for books, isn’t perfect and there are certainly abuses to it, but reviews really are critical to both authors and readers. For authors, the more reviews their book has, the more notice it gets, which translates to more sales. For readers, reviews hopefully give us accurate information so we can decide if a book is worth our time and money or if we should just move along to the next one.
I’ve been reading advance copies and reviewing for a…
If you haven't yet read Pippa Grant, you're really missing out! With titles like Stud in the Stacks,Mr. McHottie, The Pilot and the Puck-Up,and her latest, Royally Pucked,(available 4/6/18) this author is either slightly deranged, incredibly clever, or maybe a bit of both. The series is loosely based on hockey-playing twin brothers, Zeus and Aries, their sister, friends and teammates. Zeus and Aries are gentle giants with unique, memorable personalities and shenanigans somehow seem to surround them.
One thing is sure. You've never had a reading experience like Ms. Grant delivers. I've read a lot of rom-coms, but her books are an entire family, interactive experience. Provided you're reading in the company of family.
I'm going to let you in on a little secret about me. I read a lot. I mean A LOT. I've done over 450 book reviews in the last year, and there are another 10 to 20 in that time that I read and didn't review. As you can imagine, they all blur together, and only the truly exceptional authors and works leave an indelible mark on me. Jaxson Kidman is one of those authors.
But I have yet to begin to figure him out. It's undeniably evident he gives everything of himself to every work. His work is vulnerable. It's transparent. It's authentic. His pain, his tragedies and his triumphs are all there, laid bare for the reader to experience. Why? That's the part I don't understand. Why would anyone be willing to flay himself open for the whole world to see? It could be that it's cathartic. Perhaps it's a way of exorcising demons. Some might say it's a gimmick to sell books, but anyone who has read his work knows that's not the case. What I do know i…
